I’ve been confused in the past and on many occasions have wondered; what does a powerful woman look like?

On one hand I’m told that real power means to work hard, be focused and disciplined, and DON’T be too emotional. On the other hand, I figured out the hard way, that men don’t like to date women who are more like men than they are. Hollywood and Cosmopolitan tell us to become the stereotypical seductress by night, and the hard-edged business women who is married to her company by day. Are these really the roles and positions we’ve been fighting for all these years?

We are overwhelmed with unending messages, very few of which acknowledge the feminine qualities that we have and naturally want to express.

Today it is more confusing than ever to decide how a powerful woman should act; in the boardroom, in the bedroom, on the dating scene - or if she wants to become the next president. Recently we have made many positive steps towards allowing women more power, but in the pursuit of that power, many women have taken on a more masculine role and have lost touch with their femininity.

I have lots of positive male energy around me as well as girlfriends who inspire and nurture me.

And last but definitely not least, I finally have enough time to relax and to connect with myself and those I love (see the sidebar at left).
